Over 1000 To Be Laid Off By Michigan Automotive Manufacturer
Every year, thousands of people lose their jobs due to budget cuts to keep the business profitable, which is a conversation that could bring about spirited debates depending on which side you take. Some people say this makes sense as the companies have to continue to be profitable to be successful while others say that some people within the company should be paid less to keep workers around.
Either way, it comes down to where the money is going and how it is being spent. At the current moment, it is easier for many high-level corporate officers to fire or lay workers off to continue to maintain the salary they currently have than to take a pay cut and keep their workers around. Again, it's their decision but is one that many people argue could be handled differently.
In Michigan, the state has done fairly well with offering jobs for the residents, but it has been in an interesting position since the COVID-19 pandemic which changed the economic landscape of the country. Since the economy has yet to recover, there have been more and more people losing their jobs while companies try to salvage their numbers.
Stellantis will be the next large company to join the list of businesses to lay off workers as the new fiscal year is beginning. Over the last couple of years, we have seen a number of businesses both large and small laying off workers around the months of November and December as they plan their budgets for the upcoming year.
This year is no different as many companies have started to dive into their budgets and looking to make cuts where they can. Stellantis has already announced that they would be making budgets cuts to the tune of laying off 1,100 employees who are currently employed at their Warren Truck Assembly Plant in Warren, Michigan.
