It’s Okay To Skip Presents This Year If You Need To
The holidays are going to be different for most of us this year. My family usually buys presents for everyone, extended family included. Since funds are tight right now, we decided to change up our gift giving.
Our main focus is the kids this year. My family and I decided we don't need the extra pair of fuzzy socks or new scarf. Normally we do a crazy sock exchange or White Elephant, but we'd rather spend the extra money we have on the kids and give them a Christmas they'll never forget.
If you don't have the funds, don't stress yourself out. It's okay to skip out on gift giving this year. Everyone is trying their best to stay afloat right now and will hopefully understand. According to Credit Karma,
"A little over half of Americans are feeling more financially stressed by the upcoming holiday season than they did in 2019. Respondents indicated that they were especially concerned about affording presents, and many are planning to change their gift-giving traditions this year."
If you are tight on funds, but still want to participate in gifts this year, here's some gifts you can give that won't break the bank.
If you're someone who has a little extra spending money this year and you're looking to give back to those in need, check out "Operation Santa" and more ways you can give back to the Lansing area.
