We've all heard by now that it's going to be hot this weekend. Today (Saturday, June 30th) we'll see--and feel--temperatures in the mid 90s and the head index could reach around 110 degrees this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Yes, it's going to be hot...but it looks like we won't be breaking any records.

Wikipedia says that the Summer 1936 North American Heat Wave was one of the most severe heat waves in the history of North America. That heat wave brought the highest temperature to hit the state of Michigan. Currently, the state record high is 112 °F and was recorded in Standwood and Mio on July 13th, 1936.
