How You Can Get a Free Donut Today on National Donut Day
First of all, is it doughnut or donut? Apparently in the official spelling in the Oxford dictionary is doughnut. However, the Americanized spelling is donut. I know this because the Time website did a whole article about the doughnut vs donut debate. Today, we'll be going with donut especially since we're talking about how you can get a free donut at Dunkin' Donuts, and well, that's how they spell it.
If you didn't know, the first Friday in June is always National Donut Day. To celebrate the big day, Dunkin' is offering guests a free classic donut of their choice with the purchase of any beverage. The offer is good at participating locations and while supplies last. I have to admit that I had no idea we had so many Dunkin' locations in the Lansing area. According to their website, they've got the location on Okemos Road in Okemos, a location on Haslett Road in East Lansing, one on East Saginaw Street in Lansing and one on Ernest Way in Lansing. They've also got one on North West Avenue in Jackson.
For National Donut Day, Tim Hortons is offering guests a free donut with the purchase of any eligible beverage on the Tim Hortons app. Now I know that some of the Tim Hortons locations in the Lansing area have closed so you can click here to find a Tim Hortons location near you.
Krispy Kreme is also participating in National Donut Day. They're actually celebrating National Donut Week by giving away free donuts. However, the closest location is over in Grand Rapids. Remember when they had the location over by the Eastwood Towne Center? I'm still trying to figure out how that location didn't work out for them. It seems like it would be a great spot. But what do I know?
