How Do You Feel About Virtual Reality Games in Self-Driving Cars?
A lot's changed since I got my first car - my dad's cream-colored, 1974 Chevy Vega that he gave to me. With an aluminum engine that we replaced at least twice. Soon, we'll all be tooling around in driver-less cars. (As a matter of fact, GM has announced they'll be mass-producing them next year.)
And since we won't have to actually drive an autonomous car, we'll have time to do other things - like fight zombies and hang glide.
No, really. According to The Verge, Apple is developing a virtual reality system for autonomous cars, so it will SEEM like you're hang-gliding down 127 or I-96 on your way to work. In fact, Apple's patent application says, "Passengers may choose to have relaxing virtual experiences … such as floating down a river or soaring over the landscape in a hang glider, or exciting virtual experiences such as a car chase or driving through a post-apocalyptic wasteland with zombies attacking "
When we talked about this on the morning show, Stephanie insisted (again) that this is not for her. Sad. We'll see how she feels when I paddle down the river past her, in my brand new, 2019 Self-Driving Vega.
