The news that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are now dating broke right before the CMA Awards on Wednesday evening (Nov. 4), but in a new radio station interview, Stefani is side-stepping the question.

Stefani recently talked with Dallas-Fort Worth radio station 103.7 KVIL, and asserts that she and Shelton did not announce that they are dating.

"We didn't .. somebody did, but we didn't," she tells the station. "That's so crazy. Who announces that? Why would I do that?"

While it was Stefani's representative who first confirmed the news that the two are dating, Stefani didn't deny that Shelton is a good guy when the station asked if he had helped her through her divorce.

"He's a pretty rad guy, I have to say that," she says. "There's been loads of people who have helped me through this tragedy. Blake really helped me. Pharrell [Williams] was literally like a guardian angel."

As the news broke on Wednesday, Luke Bryan was on the CMA Red Carpet in the middle of an interview when he was asked about the new couple.

“He didn’t come out about that," he tells E! "You’re trying to trick me . . . this is like when your wife makes you tell on yourself.”

Once the reporter explained that the news broke recently and it had been confirmed, he lightened up while poking fun at his friend.

“It can’t be true, because there’s no way Blake could ever score a girl like that,” he said. “So it’s not true. I mean, come on, people.”

While Stefani didn't attend the CMA Awards, according to Entertainment Tonight, she did join Shelton at Warner Music Nashville's CMA after party.
