2016 Record: 7-3 Overall, 6-1 CAAC Blue | CAAC Blue Champions, lost to Grandville 37-0 in 1st Round of Division 1 playoffs.

Season Outlook:
Even though the Comets won another CAAC Blue championship, GL ended the season on a low note. A loss at home to arch-rival Holt and then a blowout loss to Grandville ended what was a promising year.
However, Coach Matt Bird has 38 seniors on this season's squad. One of them is his son, senior QB Nolan Bird. Nolan enters his third season as the Comets starter. The schedule is difficult, with Hudsonville at home on the new FieldTurf and then at DeWitt in Week 2. We'll find out quickly if GL really for real.
