If you're in the U.P. and it's hazy this week, the reason is probably the forest fires burning northeast of you in Canada. According to MLive.com, several fires are burning right now in northeastern Canada, but the wind is blowing a lot of that smoke into the U.P. Starting Friday, the winds will shift, but that probably won't make things much better. On Friday, the wind will shift and be coming out of the northwest. But that will only pick up smoke coming from the several large wildfires burning in Manitoba and further west.

HOWEVER, that smoke may make for some spectacular sunsets in the next several days down here in the lower peninsula.

So we got that going for us.
