The Lansing area has gotten quite a bit of rain over the last several days and more is in the forecast for today and tomorrow. Because of all the rain, the National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD ADVISORY for the Lansing area that is in effect until 8:30pm tonight (Wednesday, May 1st). The NWS says that several rounds of heavy rainfall are expected today and tomorrow. Total rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches are likely. That rainfall will be enough to cause small streams to rise significantly. The heavy rainfall will also have an impact on driving conditions. The National Weather Service says that "drivers should pay extra attention to conditions tonight and Thursday morning, especially if driving after dark, as ponded water may be difficult to see.
