23 Lansing Area Spots With The Best Fried Fish
It's that time of year, once again.
The time of year when fish and seafood items are aplenty on most, if not all, restaurant menus. It's the Lenten Season, and that means it's time for a good ole fashioned fish fry.
Lenten Season
This year's Lenten season began on Wednesday, February 22nd, and will go through Thursday, April 6th. And for those who don't know, Lent is a season of fasting and prayer observed by Catholics in preparation for Easter.
Fish and seafood are especially important for those observing Lent because, on Fridays, they must refrain from eating meat. So, the Lenten Fish Fry is a big deal.
Restaurants with Fried Fish and a Michigan Fish Fry
In fact, fish is so popular during this time that you'll find just about every restaurant with a deep fryer offering fried fish of some kind, usually cod.
And you can't say fried fish in Lent without talking about the good, old-fashioned Midwestern fish fry. It's a staple amongst churches, Knights of Colombus spots, and more throughout Michigan and the midwest at large.
