FDA Issues Recall Of 6 Different Tattoo Inks

If you--or someone you know--is thinking about getting a tattoo, please let them know about this tattoo recall. Also, tattoo artists and retailers of tattoo inks should be aware of this recall, too (if they aren't already.) The FDA has issued a recall alert for some tattoo inks because they may be contaminated with microorganisms that can cause infections and lead to serious health injuries when injected into the skin during a tattooing procedure.

Here are the tattoo inks that are being recalled:

• Scalpaink SC, Scalpaink PA, and Scalpaink AL basic black tattoo inks manufactured by Scalp Aesthetics (all lots)
• Dynamic Color - Black tattoo ink manufactured by Dynamic Color Inc  (lots 12024090 and 12026090)
• Solid Ink-Diablo (red) tattoo ink manufactured by Color Art Inc. (dba Solid Ink) (dba Antone's Ink) (lot 10.19.18)
