Expansion Brewing for Strange Matter Coffee in Downtown Lansing
Strange Matter Coffee is expanding its downtown Lansing location this spring, and when it does, expect a few new offerings.
According to a recent post on its Instagram page, Strange Matter Coffee's downtown location on Washington Square is working to expand this spring into neighboring spaces that Subway and Fudge & Frosting used to occupy. When it does, it'll be partnering with a couple local restaurateurs to grow its list of offerings.
The revamped Strange Matter Coffee location will feature food items from Bangos, which had operated a food truck in downtown Lansing up until March 19. A post on the Bangos Facebook page informed its fans that sharing the kitchen at Strange Matter would allow it to "be open more days, more hours, and have more space. Deluxe burgers and vegan coneys for lunch six days a week!"
Strange Matter Coffee further explained the coming partnership with Bangos this way:
Bangos will share the kitchen during our daytime hours while our bakery team continues to make fresh doughnuts in the middle of the night and early in the mornings.
Got a craving for some vegan soft serve? Strange Matter Coffee will have you covered there as well, with offerings from Babe's Corner Lansing.
For anyone concerned that the shared kitchen arrangement between Strange Matter Coffee and Bangos could result in possible cross-contamination between vegan and non-vegan foods, Strange Matter offers this reassurance:
Our new kitchen is massive and Bangos will have separate prep tables, flattops and fryers for their foods. Bangos will also be primarily operating during hours when we are not baking.
Strange Matter Coffee hopes to have its downtown Lansing expansion open to the public by mid-May.
