BOYS AND GIRLS COMPETE TO QUALIFY FOR THE NATIONAL RACE IN AKRON! PLUS, THERE’LL BE VISITS FROM PAST SOAP BOX RACERS, OLD CARS ON DISPLAY, AND YOU CAN BROWSE TONS OF PHOTOS AND MEMORABILIA! THE ST JOHNS SOAPBOX DERBY! IN DOWNTOWN ST JOHNS, SUNDAY, JUNE 16TH! HOSTED BY THE SAINT JOHNS PRINCIPAL SHOPPING DISTRICT IN DOWNTOWN SAINT JOHNS!

Race Divisions: Stock (Ages 7 at date of race- 14 before Aug 1, 2019) & Super Stock (ages 9-18 before Aug 1, 2019)
Registration fee: $35 (until February 14, 2019), $50 (February 15-June 1, 2019)

*Prices may vary. Used cars may be purchased for the race, but must comply with the latest All-American Soap Box Derby (AASBD) requirements (see: http://www.soapboxderby.org/media/480078/rulebook-06-2018.pdf).
Racers are encouraged to seek sponsors for their racecars to defray the costs shown above. Sponsors may wrap the cars with their company logo or other tasteful colors and information.
All racecars will be placed in a secured area near the St Johns Depot for viewing by the general public on the morning of the race. Racecars will be transported and handled by race officials during the race.
Racecars that do not comply with All-American SoapBox Derby (AASBD) rules and requirements will be disqualified. (see: http://www.soapboxderby.org/media/480078/rulebook-06-2018.pdf )
Designated race officials will monitor all race heats. Electronic sensors will determine the winners. All drivers will be guaranteed races in at least two heats. Racecar wheels will be swapped with completing racer in each heat, and returned after each heat. There will be one designated winner for each division (Stock & Super Stock).
The winner of each division in the St Johns SoapBox Derby event will qualify to compete in the FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship Race held in July at the world famous Derby Downs Track in Akron Ohio.
