Seems more like "jacket" weather today with unseasonably warm temperatures 20 degrees above normal for this time of year, but it's not going to last long.

MLive.com is reporting the above-normal temps will continue through today and into tomorrow, but then the winter chill returns.  Rain is expected on-and-off for the next 48-hours as part of the massive system that dumped torrential rains in California causing mudslides.

Temperatures here on Wednesday are expected to be close to 20 degrees colder--and more in line with what is traditional for this time of year.

Thursday and Friday are forecast to be back in the low 30's for most of the daytime hours.  Overnight temps will drop but not significantly..

As for snow as we approach the official start of winter in the days ahead,  the Upper Peninsula should get some accumulation--estimated at between 2 to 4 inches--along with northern portions of the state.  Western communities could see some of the "white stuff" stick as well.

For the remainder of the week, it looks like dry conditions in Michigan with plenty of sunshine. leading to speculation that the state could see little to no snow on Christmas Day!
