What's for lunch?

Do you normally pack your lunch? Do you enjoy going out to lunch every once in a while? If you love the opportunity to eat out but, you can't afford to go out all the time, Downtown Jackson has something just for you.

Let's be honest; eating out can definitely be a luxury these days. And at the same time, our local restaurants could always use the love. So Downtown Jackson came up with Tuesday TEN$.

What Is Tuesday TEN$?

Tuesday TEN$ will take place the first Tuesday of every month. From 11 am to 2 pm that day, participating restaurants will have lunch available for purchase for just $10. Additionally, each restaurant will have a special, day-only menu item, giving you an extra incentive to go that day for fear of missing out on some one-of-a-kind items.

This cool program was created for two main reasons: to give patrons an affordable reason to visit Downtown Jackson and help restaurants increase traffic.

At this time, there are 18 restaurants participating in this deal, with the potential for more to join down the road.

Inside Jackson, Michigan's Long Vacant Gilbert's Steakhouse

Listed for a quarter million dollars at the time, I was able to tour the former Gilbert's Steakhouse in June of 2024, a year before it would be torn down on September 17, 2025. Here's what this former Jackson, Michigan (technically located in Blackman Township), looked like a year before it was razed.
