Officials in Clinton County are warning residents about another phone scam. According to their Facebook post, someone has been calling residents throughout Clinton County claiming to be with Consumers Energy. The caller says is apparently telling people that they are late on their payment and says that their power is going to be shut off immediately if their payment is not made by purchasing money cards and giving the caller the numbers off those cards. Officials say that the scammer is also spoofing their phone number to make it look like the call is actually coming from Consumers Energy.
