DNR To Hold Outdoor Workshops For Women
Are you looking to expand or possibly sharpen your outdoor skills?
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ is here to help with their "Becoming an Outdoors Woman" workshops!
Becoming an Outdoors Woman
Are you interested in learning more about hunting, fishing, kayaking, backpacking and more? The DNR is offering a series of summer classes to women 18 years and older.
The program will be held three different days and all of the equipment will be provided. All participants get to select the program of their choice.

Classes Offered This Summer
Hunter Safety Course
You're gonna have to wake up early for the 2021 Hunter Safety Course because it's at 8 a.m. and goes until noon. It'll be held at the Washtenaw Sportsman’s Club in Ypsilanti on July 24, 2021.
It's a hunters education field day course and alternative to the traditional course.
Knot Tying and Map and Compass Workshop
The Knot Tying and Map and Compass workshop is also July 24, 2021 at Presque Isle Senior Pavilion, Presque Isle Park.
There will be two different classes held this day. The beginners Knot Tying class is 10 a.m. to noon and the beginner Map and Compass class will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Participants can attend one or both classes.
Pop-up Event
On July 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a demonstration and information pop-up event at Belle Isle State Park in Detroit. Various demo classes will be available throughout the park.
