According to Detroit Sports Nation, Fox Sports Detroit personality and play-by-play announcer Matt Shepard's wife and son were involved in a pretty serious car accident. Shepard, who had been a featured personality during Tigers games over the years came to the forefront last year as he took over in the broadcast booth calling the games after the suspension, then dismissal of Mario Impemba and Rod Allen.

His wife will apparently have to go through multiple surgeries, while his son got a concussion and some bruises.

We wish the Shepard's the best during this time and of course a speedy recovery for Mrs. Shepard and the Shepard's son.
