Have You Tried Lansing’s Unique Craft-Making Bar Yet?
Have you checked out The Craft Bar in Old Town Lansing? By the name, you might think it had something to do with craft beers. However, it has nothing to do with beer and everything to do with literal crafts.
If you're a crafty person, you probably have anywhere from three to seven different crafts going at any one time. That one baby blanket you're in the middle of crocheting; that watercolor kit you got for your birthday that you're learning how to use; and that candle making kit you just had to have. Crafting can get expensive.
Not to mention the set up and clean up, especially if you're learning a new craft. By the time you're done prepping and setting up a craft, you sometimes run out of steam 10 minutes in.
Why The Craft Bar Is Different From Traditional Crafting
That's where The Craft Bar comes in.
The Craft Bar first opened in December 2024 and has offered a variety of different crafts ever since.
All you do is pick the type of craft you'd like to do and what day and time you'd like to do it, and they take care of the rest. They have all the supplies you'll need, they set up, teach you the craft, and clean up when you're done.

Popular Crafts You Can Make at The Craft Bar
Here are some of the crafts that you can take part in while you're there:
- candle making
- whipped soap or body butter
- body spray or room spray
- vision boards/collages
- watercolor painting
- friendship bracelets
- paper quilling
- pipe cleaner flowers
I learned how to do paper quilling and made this really neat strawberry!

Depending on the craft, prices range from $15 to $50. You can go by yourself or with a friend or two. You can even book a big party for a birthday, bachelorette party, or other celebration.

If you're feeling artsy, The Craft Bar is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday, and 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays. It's located at 513 E César E. Chávez Ave in Old Town.
