Cooling Centers Open In The Lansing Area

With hot and humid conditions hitting the Lansing area this weekend, please remember to check on your neighbors or family members without air conditioning, make sure that your pet/pets have plenty of water and a cool place to rest and avoid any strenuous activity outside.

If you need to visit a cooling center this weekend, according to the City of Lansing website, there are several cooling center options available this weekend:

• Capital Area Salvation Army on North Pennsylvania Avenue
• Cristo Rey Community Center on North High Street
• The Downtown Lansing Library on South Capitol
• The East Lansing Public Library on Abbot Road
• Lansing Mall on Saginaw Highway
• Any Meijer location in the Lansing area
• The South Lansing Library on South Cedar
• Meridian Mall on West Grand River Avenue
