Let’s start with this:

Karma (car-ma) is a word meaning the result of a person's actions as well as the actions themselves. It is a term about the cycle of cause and effect. According to the theory of Karma, what happens to a person, happens because they caused it with their actions.

A few weeks back, hundreds of Class of 2020 signs were placed along Holt Road in front of the senior campus as a way of honoring this year’s graduating seniors. Well, earlier this week it appears that someone decided to take around 20 of those signs. (Please note that if you see individual signs throughout the Holt area in someone’s front yard, the signs were available for purchase by the student’s family. Also know that the signs are put away by volunteers when strong winds or heavy rain is expected in the area.)

As you can imagine, the theft/prank whatever you want to call it, isn’t going over very well with the police. As a matter of fact, the sheriff from the Ingham Country Sheriff’s Office has some strong words for the people who took the signs. (And also brought back the word 'nincompoops‘ which is awesome. Anyway, here’s what he posted on the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page:

To the jerk(s) who decided to steal about 20 Holt High School Senior signs honoring them from in front of the High School, you are quite something.

The world is in a pandemic, people are dying, and businesses closed. High school seniors lost most of their senior year. Missing sports, theatre, prom, academic awards, finals, scholarships, graduation etc and you geniuses decided to do this?? My guess is you probably didn’t or don’t care much about high school, but these kids did. Do the right thing and return them immediately.

If you were trying to be funny……….. here’s a heads up………. you suck at it, not funny.

If you are too chicken to bring them back, leave them in some conspicuous place (it means can’t be missed if you didn’t know), where somebody from the public can call us to pick them up.

My deputies have more serious criminals to catch than you nincompoops. A formal report is being filed and ICSO detectives are known to work miracles when solving cases. You have until midnight Thursday 4-30-20 to make sure they are returned, case closed.

Please contact the Delhi Township Division of the Sheriff's Office if you have suspect information or know the location of these signs.

Scott Wriggelsworth
Ingham County Sheriff

So, yeah, they're not happy. If you know anything, please give them a call---soon.
