WILX.com reports that The City of Lansing is making changes to its yard waste collection services schedule, and is changing policies for trash and recycling collection due to the spread of coronavirus.

The city will delay its yard waste collection until two weeks after Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer lifts the statewide Executive Order closing non-essential businesses to combat the pandemic. The additional two week delay to yard waste collection is necessary to hire and train seasonal employees.

Also, no items not in recycling or trash carts will be picked up beginning on Monday, April 13. This policy does affect customers with the 95-gallon cart, which, typically, allows for a limited number of loose receptacles to be picked up.
