Calling All Lumberjacks! Old Town Lansing Has A Festival Just For You This Weekend!
If flannel is your go-to shirt choice, if you choose beer over wine or whiskey over vodka, if you take pride in your beard... then make sure you head to Old Town Lansing's Lumberjack Festival this weekend!
According to the Lansing State Journal, this Saturday will be the Old Town Commercial Association's first ever Lumberjack Festival; a festival dedicated to everything Lumberjack. Lumberjacks AND Lumberjanes are encouraged to come out and enjoy a multitude of festive activities, including:
- Beer
- Whiskey
- Beard & Mustache competitions
- Blindfolded log cabin building
- Hearty food
- Feats of Strength Competition
- More!
If you think you have what it takes to be in the Feats of Strength Competition, come ready! Vanessa Shafer, who is Old Town Commercial Association's executive director, says that "a group of professional lumberjacks agrees to design an obstacle course, so you know it's going to be the real deal".
The Lumberjack Festival takes places this Saturday from noon to 5 pm on the "1200 block of Turner Street in Old Town in Lansing." It's free to get in, but donations are appreciated. $10 is the suggested donation amount. Get more info about the festival here.
