So I've got to tell ya, I was pretty excited to go to The Henry Ford. It’s actually the first time I’ve ever been there, and I have to say I was impressed. The drive was really easy, too — just a little over an hour and you're on the freeway the whole time.

Before checking out Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes, I got a chance to see some early Ford vehicles and plenty of early farm equipment, as well as the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. It brought back a lot of memories as a kid as I remember cruising through the South Side of Chicago giving away Oscar Mayer whistles.

The Marvel exhibit was really a lot of fun as it brings out the superheroes in us all. It was fun watching the kids' eyeballs pop out as they gazed at their favorite superheroes up close and personal. The exhibit is full of comics, life-sized superheroes and props from the movie sets, including costumes the actors wore in the films. I enjoyed reading all the comics they had, which also brought back a lot of childhood memories. They even had the only surviving page of the very first Marvel comic—a relic in its own right.

And of course, it’s all very, very colorful. There are more than 300 artifacts on display, and it was definitely a fun visit for the whole family. The whole family agrees it brought out the superhero in us all.

I did arm wrestle the Incredible Hulk, and I did win but he asked me not to tell anybody. He said he’s not as young as he used to be. 😉
