A world-known country music star who’s star is rising again will be coming to Marshall this summer.

The Calhoun County Fairgrounds announced on Friday that Billy Ray Cyrus will be headlining a concert on the penultimate day of the Calhoun County Fair in August.

Billy Ray Cyrus, who is from Kentucky, first rose to stardom in the early 90’s with his hit Achy-Breaky Heart. He then became a household name to a new generation as the father of pop star Miley Cyrus in the mid 2000’s, and also starred in the Hannah Montana TV show in that same role. Now, this year Cyrus has earned his first Billboard Number 1 Hit, as the featured artist on the country rap hit “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X.

Billy Ray Cyrus will be at the County Fair in Marshall on August 16; tickets are 30 bucks for grandstand seating and $40 for spots on the track. Tickets can be found here.
