This Saturday, February 22nd, 2020, is National Margarita Day! (How awesome is it that it falls on the weekend this year?!) According to the National Margarita Day website, it seems that there's some debate over the person that is responsible for inventing the classic margarita, although they do say that it happened "during the 1930’s or 1940’s". They also explain that frozen margaritas were "invented later in 1970’s when an inventive bartender converted a soft serve ice cream unit into a frozen margarita machine." If you'd like, you can click here to read more about the great margarita debate.

Anyway, when it comes to getting a good margarita in the Lansing area, you've got plenty of options. One of those options is the Cantina Award Winning Margarita that is served at Cantina Eastwood. It was named the winner at last year's Margarita Festival in Lansing. You can read more about that by clicking here. Another local favorite includes the big House Margarita at Los Tres Amigos that is a whopping 38 ounces and is part of their happy hour specials. Also, according to Yelp, some other places in the Lansing area that serve up a great margarita include El Azteco, Punk Taco, Cancun Mexican Grill and Pablo's Old Town. *By the way, the margaritas in the picture are from Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grill. They were consumed on National Margarita Day 2019.
