Recently I was talking to a student from Perry and we got on the subject of homecoming floats. A long, long time ago when I was in high school, I was one of those people that worked hard on creating our class float. Many hours were spent making those paper carnations and attaching them to chicken wire. And trust me, it can really hurt your hands! So...that got me thinking...let’s show some love to the kids throughout Mid-Michigan that are stepping up and working hard on their homecoming float this year. Submit a picture of your finished homecoming float and we’ll have our listeners vote for their favorite. The float with the most votes will get a free pizza party from WITL!

To get the ball rolling...here's a few homecoming float pictures that I found in my high school yearbook. Yes, they're I'm so old that they're in black and white. Yes, that's me dressed up as a jester to be a part of our junior year float. And yes, one of my classmates drew on my face on the picture in the yearbook. :)

Email your photo to stephanie.mccoy@townsquaremedia.com OR submit your photo via the WITL App at witl.com/app. Submissions will be accepted until October 13th.

Here are some rules to keep in mind. The photo must be submitted by someone who actually worked on the float. :) The photo must be from your 2018 homecoming. Submissions will be accepted from high schools located in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, Jackson, Shiawasee, Ionia, Livingston and Calhoun counties. Date of pizza party will be determined at a later date. *Rules subject to change.
