Founders Brewing Company has announced a brown ale will be their first release of 2021. It will be a Maple Barrel-Aged Frangelic Mountain Brown and it will be the 16th release in the taproom-only Mothership Series.

Aged in bourbon barrels that were used to contain maple syrup, Frangelic Mountain Brown will have a sweet and nutty flavor. Maple Barrel-Aged Frangelic Mountain Brown will be available beginning on January 27. The ale will be available in six packs of 12 ounce bottles and on draft served at the Grand Rapids and Detroit tap rooms. The beer will have a price of $20/6-pack.


Previous Mothership Series beers have included: Frootwood, Passion Fruit Gose, Blushing Padre, Detroit Double IPA, Devil Dancer, French Toast Bastard, Oktoberfest, Pale Joe and Mucho Lupu.

According to the Founders Brewery Company website,

"Maple Barrel-Aged Frangelic Mountain Brown will once again change the way you view coffee beers."
