Have you ever tried to solve a Rubik's Cube? I mean, actually solve it. Not take off the stickers. Not break it apart and put it back together. Actually solve it. Well, when I was much younger I tried *many* times...unsuccessfully.

Good thing we have a kid like Collin Burns! According to Newser.com, Burns set a new Rubik's Cube world record last weekend in Pennsylvania. The teenager solved the cube in 5.25 seconds. The previous record was 5.55 seconds set by a Dutch teenager back in 2013.

So, this summer when your kids are bored, just get a Rubik's Cube and tell them to try and beat the new record. And to help them/you out, here are some things to keep in mind. Apparently, there's a couple of tricks to use in order to solve the cube...like lots of math, memorizing twist sequences and oil. Yep, oil. It helps to make the cube move quicker. to learn more about solving the Rubik's Cube, click here.
