Horrocks’ Third Annual Mac & Cheese Fest Returns in February
It's at this point in Michigan's winter where I require warm food for every meal.
And not just warm food—I need warm, filling, comforting food this time of year. I want pasta, I want soup, I want casserole, and I definitely want mac and cheese. If you feel the same, and warm comfort food is your go-to this time of year, you might be interested in this food fest that Horrocks is doing.
Horrocks Farm Market in Lansing is hosting its third annual Mac & Cheese Fest.
What to Expect at Mac & Cheese Fest
The festival is scheduled to take place from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday, February 21. And if you love mac and cheese, you won't want to miss it.
It's $8 per cup of mac and cheese, and there are A LOT of possibilities when it comes to combinations of cheese bases and toppings.
What's On the Menu at Mac & Cheese Fest?
Cheese bases include yellow cheddar, white cheddar, smoked gouda, asiago, and hatch chile. Toppings include pulled pork, bacon bits, onions, hot sauces, and more.
And while the focus is definitely on mac and cheese during this festival, there will also be live music—DJ John Beltran from 2 - 5 pm and following the festival, Atomic Annie from 5 - 8 pm. Plus, complimentary hot cocoa and warming fires all day, that way you can stay toasty despite the cold.
Why the Date Changed
You might have noticed that the original date for this year's Mac & Cheese Fest had to be moved from January 24 to February 21; that's due to the extremely cold temperatures anticipated that weekend. The hope is for some better weather in February. Or at the very least, not temperatures in the negative double-digits.
In the meantime, stay warm and dream of mac and cheese.
