Last night was Chris Stapleton's night at the CMA Awards. He and Justin Timberlake had the performance of the night AND he took home three of the biggest awards. But a lot of country music fans have no idea who Chris Stapleton is. Just a few years ago he was the lead singer for a bluegrass band called the Steeldrivers (they're still one of my favorites) Here's Chris with the Steeldrivers - on a show called Bluegrass Underground - which is recorded 333 feet below ground, in a cave, in Tennessee.

And Chris writes HIT songs. And that's one of the reasons Nashville loves him. In fact, he's written over 150 songs that various artists in country music and beyond have recorded.

Here's a couple of cool videos to demonstrate:

First up: Adele - one of the biggest stars in he world of music. Here's a video of a concert in Paris with her singing her version of a song Chris wrote called, "If It Hadn't Been For Love" (And then below, you can listen to Chris' version):

Here's Chris with his version (gotta say - I like his version better):

And then, check out Luke Bryan (with Chris singing backup) singing "Drink A Beer" which was written by Chris Stapleton:
