For the first time in the 60 years they've been walking across the Mighty Mac on Labor Day, they're going to shut the bridge down. Not just one lane each way - ALL the lanes.

On Labor Day, the Mackinac Bridge will be shut down to ALL traffic starting at 6:30AM and lasting until Noon. The reason? According to 9and10News up north, Michigan State Police, along with Homeland Security, are a little concerned after seeing recent attacks by terrorists around the world. So, all 60,000 walkers will have the bridge to themselves. Plan accordingly.

Here's the story.
