Since 2011, there's been a weird "humming" sound in Windsor, Ontario - just across the river from Detroit. And nobody can figure out what's making the noise or where it's coming from.

The New York Times dove into to the story and found that the only plausible explanation is that the noise is coming from U.S. Steel blast furnaces on Zug Island, on the Detroit River. But reps for the company are not cooperating with the investigation. My question: what secrets could they have at a blast furnace?

Have you heard the hum?
