Ladies and gentlemen, it's official. Michigan is home to the best drivers in America.

No, really. According to the Detroit Free Press, something called QuoteWizard just released a study that took into account accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs, citations and fatalities from each state. Michigan came out on top with Mississippi and Oklahoma at number two and three respectively. According to the study, Michigan "drivers earn the gold medal thanks to less citations, speeding, and fatalities than last year."

The worst drivers in the U.S.? The drivers in Maine. A beautiful state populated by nice people who live in fear of (probably) moose accidents and Stephen King characters.

The article adds that the stats only took into account insured drivers. And in Michigan, one out of five drivers are UN-insured (nationwide, it's about one in eight).

Congrats - and enjoy that ride home today. Here's the story.
