Last month we shared the story about Baylee DeVos of Caledonia High School and Blake Johnson of The Potter’s House High School in Wyoming who were finalists in this year's Stuck at Prom Scholarship ContestIt's a nationwide contest where contestants that attend their high school prom wear formal wear that has been made completely out of duct tape. The grand prize was an impressive $10,000 for the winner. Well, guess what? Baylee won!

According to a press release, Baylee credits God first and foremost with the win along with her community. “God opened opportunities all along the way, without which I never could have participated. I know without a doubt that this blessing is from Him, and that makes it all the more special. On another note, this competition wouldn’t exist without Duck Brand, and I appreciate the opportunity more than I could put into words!! Such a scholarship as this is extremely impactful and I know I’ve already taken so much out of the process that will help me in my next stages of life. I am also so thankful for my friend, Blake, who partnered with me and also achieved finalist standing! This has far exceeded both of our expectations!"

And what about that $10,000 grand prize? Well, Baylee says the $10,000 will help her pursue a career in an area she is extremely passionate about: Graphic Design. Baylee has made a commitment not to take out any student loans, so the money she won will help cover her costs for her first year at Ferris State University. She adds that "regardless of the plan God has for me, this scholarship will make a substantial difference in helping me get there.”
