If you are a member of the staff or faculty at the University of Michigan, from now on you will have to address undergrad Grant Strobl as "His Majesty" Grant Strobl. The reason? The university has enacted a policy which allows students to choose a "preferred pronoun" so they can be addressed by the gender (or non-gender) they identify with.

Not everybody will choose a pronoun, but if they DO - it will be listed on the class rosters and professors will be required to address students with that pronoun. Failure to do so may lead to disciplinary action.

I don't care what you call yourself or how you "identify" - I just wish I could be in that first class when Grant is addressed as "His Majesty".
