Toilet Seat Burns Student & Staff Members In Ann Arbor
Umm...ouch.
According to Mlive.com, one student and two staff members at Ann Arbor Open School suffered minor burns after sitting on toilet seats in the library wing of the building earlier this week. Officials say the injuries were likely the result of the cleaning crew at the school not properly diluting the chemical used to clean surface areas in the bathroom.
After the three people reported having burning sensations and rashes on their upper thighs and buttocks after sitting on the toilet seats, officials immediately re-cleaned the toilets. According to the report, the chemical is commonly used in schools and hospitals, though it could cause a rash and burning sensation if not properly diluted. A Poison Control official said that the area exposed to this undiluted chemical should be cleaned with soap and water but they did also emphasize that there would be no other impacts from exposure to this cleaning product. The three people affected were treated at the school are not expected to have any lasting injuries.
