Today, September 25, 2015 is the first "Michigan Indian Day". According to uppermichiganssource.com, yesterday, the Michigan state Senate adopted a resolution sponsored by Sen. Wayne Schmidt to establish the fourth Friday in September as Michigan Indian Day.

On a side note, there's already a National Museum of the American Indian in Washington D.C., and I know there are several small museums based on the history of specific tribes in Michigan. But, I'm surprised there's not one big Michigan museum devoted to ALL the different tribes.
