The Alpha Sigma Phi frat at the University of Michigan has been sanctioned for the next five years after a hazing investigation uncovered evidence of some some pretty extreme "initiation activities". According to MLive.com, the investigation found that one of the pledges suffered an injury in January after members of the fraternity ran what they described as a  "40-yard dash" across the backs of pledges.

The frat dodged more potential trouble when the Ann Arbor police dropped their case involving the injury, when the pledge in question decided to be uncooperative and his parents told them he hadn't been injured. Even though there were messages between members of the frat (and you thought all that stuff was totally private) uncovered that hint that the pledge may have suffered a separated shoulder. But, lifelong friends and business contacts, so.....

Seriously? You (or your parents) are paying for college so people can run across your back?

I would not have made a good pledge.
