There's a lot more ice on Lake Michigan this year than there was last year at this time. That doesn't mean you should go walking on the ice. UNLESS you know exactly what you're doing. According to the Herald Palladium out of St. Joseph, Paul Bailey, the Berrien County Sheriff, would rather that you didn't. 'Cuz he's the guy that's gonna have to pull you out. He says even he wouldn't do it, “It’s way too dangerous,” he said. “You’re taking your life into your own hands.”

Inland lakes are different, but you might want to hold off. With temperatures in the 50s later this week, it would suck to end up in freezing water if you stepped in the wrong spot. It'll get colder again. I promise.
