Ned Yost is the manager of the Kansas City Royals, who are currently playing the Giants in the World Series. Way back in the '80s, Yost was a backup catcher for five years in the major leagues. After his playing career was over and before he became a minor league manager, he spent time working as a taxidermist in Mississippi. And then, one day on a hunting trip with a friend of his, he met Dale Earnhardt. And they became good friends. After Earnhardt's death, when he was manager of the Brewers, Yost started wearing the number "3" on his uniform as a tribute to Dale. And he still does.

Sporting News has a great article about Yost, and what he learned about winning from Dale Earnhardt. Click here for the story.
