With all the water and lakes in this state (don't be concerned but we're SURROUNDED by them), WHO in Michigan hasn't skipped stones on the water, vying for the title of "Family Rock Skipping Champion"? We've all done it. (If you haven't - go to a lake right now and get to it. Summer's almost over)

Some of us are naturally gifted rock-skippers. Many, sadly, are not. If that's you - good news, bunky - a robot will show you the secret. According to Popular Mechanics, Mark Rober - an ex-NASA engineer, who builds a lot of crazy stuff for his YouTube channel - designed a rock throwing" robot" (that YOU could probably easily build) that helped him figure out the science of rock skipping. The robot, when it was tuned up, got about 60 skips! But seeing what it took to get that many helped Mark's nieces and nephews increase their rock skips. Here's the article.
