It's a nice idea to put out a basket full of candy and treats for the mail and package delivery people, but one New Jersey family found out what you and I already know - squirrels are thieving little critters who will steal any food you leave laying around - and then taunt you from the safety of trees. Especially, when they live in an area where it's unlikely anybody would return the favor by making THEM dinner.

According to NBCNewYork, the Boudreaux family found out this week why squirrels are the fuzzier and cuter, country cousins of rats. (Seriously, what's the difference?)

Here's the story, with video evidence. Style points for the squirrel who likes to keep his lips kissable with stolen lip balm.

Did they not know this would happen?
