Ingham County police officials announced this week that Smart911 is now available to residents living in Ingham County. The free service provides officials with key information about the people and pets in your house. You can enter your name, phone number, address, medical information, photos, and any information you would like police to know. The information that you provide will then be on file with the police in case of an emergency.

You can sign up for free at http://smart911.com. When you sign up for the service it will also enable a text-to-911 feature for your cell. The Smart911 service has been used by officials in Eaton Country for several years. Ingham County is the first of six counties to unveil the program this year.
