You know those sirens you hear the first Saturday of the month at 1pm? The ones you always forget about?? Well, you can forget about them today because they're being cancelled. According to WILX, since there are thunderstorms in the forecast for the Lansing area, the sirens will not be sounding in Ingham County today. I guess that I should add that if you DO hear the sirens today in Ingham County, that means that severe weather is in our area and you should take cover.

The National Weather Service says that we will see scattered showers and thunderstorms into the early afternoon hours today. The NWS says that the main threats with the storms will be heavy rainfall, cloud to ground lightning and even some small hail. Here's their forecast.
