From the "You can't make this stuff up" department, there's a new report out from USA Today, that says if you feel the need to throw your jeans into the washing machine after each time you wear them, you may be doing it all wrong. According to Levi's CEO Chip Bergh, you don't need to wash your jeans as often as you think you do, if ever. In the article, Bergh explainds that half of the water consumption for a pair of jeans occurs when the jeans are made, and the other half from washing the jeans after they're purchased by consumers. But, according to "real denim aficionados," you're not supposed to wash your blue jeans at all."

So how do you keep your jeans fresh without the help of laundry detergent? Well, the "experts" recommend eliminating odor by spritzing jeans with white vinegar or vodka and hanging them out to air dry. "Experts" also say that another option is to freeze your jeans once per month to kill off the smell caused by bacteria. The freezing option entails turning your jeans inside out and then freezing them either overnight or for two days at a time.

Is it just me or do you also feel like America is getting punked with this story? I think Bergh is saying all of this just to see how many of us actually fall for it and put our jeans in the freezer. Well, I wasn't born yesterday, Mr. Bergh. I'm saving my freezer space for frozen pizzas and waffles. So there.
