Harold Cronk, a Michigan based film director, who also produced the movie "God's Not Dead" (and "God's Not Dead 2"), will produce and direct a movie titled "God Bless the Broken Road". It begins filming this spring, in west Michigan. According to Christian Today, the movie will tell the story of a young mother's struggles after the death of her soldier- husband in Afghanistan. "God Bless the Broken Road" will feature faith, stock car racing (filmed at Berlin Raceway) and country music. And yes, the title is in reference to the song made famous by Rascal Flatts, which was written and performed originally by The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Cronk's 10 West Studios are based in Manistee. He produced "God's Not Dead" for $2 million and it made $60 million. This time he's got just under $8 million to play with.

A movie with country music, car-racing and a positive message? Is Harold Cronk NUTS?! We'll just see about that. We'll let you know when it hits the theaters.
