The U.S. Marshals Service says 123 missing children in Wayne County, Michigan were recovered in a one-day sweep that was conducted in late September. According to the official report from the U.S. Marshals Service, the sweep was conducted on September 26th throughout Wayne County. Officials say that out of 301 files of missing children, 123 children were identified and recovered safely during the sweep. Police says that three cases were identified as being possible sex trafficking cases.

This is the first time an operation of this kind has been conducted in Wayne County. MANY different agencies participated in the sweep, dubbed Operation MISafeKid. For a complete list of the agencies involved and to learn more about the sweep, click here.
