ON THIS DAY - August 13th:

1981 - Last broadcast of "The Waltons" on CBS-TV

1997 - South Park's first episode is aired.  The show, created by Trey Parker & Matt Stone (pictured) has now run for 18 seasons and has been renewed through at least 2019.
