On This Day – Roseanne sings National Anthem

ON THIS DAY - July 25th:

1961 - Disney animated film "101 Dalmations", based on the novel by Dodie Smith and directed by Clyde Geronimi and Hamilton Luske is released in the US
1969 - Edward Kennedy pleads guilty to leaving scene of an accident a week after the Chappaquiddick car accident that killed Mary Jo Kopechne

1990 - Roseanne Barr sings National Anthem at Cincinnati Reds-San Diego Padres game.  First claiming she couldn't hear herself, then saying that baseball officials encouraged her to bring "humor" to the song, she rendered a "screechy" version of the National Anthem which received media attention and offended many.  To see a YouTube video of her singing the National Anthem, click here:
